Trump receives plan for ramped-up ISIS war

Trump receives plan for ramped-up ISIS warWASHINGTON ? President Trump on Monday received a package of options for escalating or transforming the war on ISIS, setting in motion a process that could lead him to expand the presence of American forces fighting the terrorist army on the ground. Defense Secretary James Mattis briefed top national security officials at the White House on the Pentagon-led proposal, which includes military recommendations but also proposals for how to starve the so-called Islamic State of funds and combat the group online, where it has recruited and radicalized perpetrators of attacks in Europe and the United States. It?s not clear when Trump will put his stamp on the undeclared war he inherited from his predecessor, a campaign that has rolled back the rampaging death cult in Iraq but has posted less significant gains in neighboring Syria.

Malaysian officials run into N. Korean's diplomatic immunityTOKYO (AP) ? Malaysian police investigating the killing of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's estranged half brother believe they know somebody who might help them solve one of the most bizarre murder mysteries they have ever faced. German hostage beheaded by Philippine Islamists: govt

German hostage beheaded by Philippine Islamists: govtIslamic militants in the Philippines have beheaded a 70-year-old German hostage they were holding for ransom, Manila officials said Monday, as Berlin condemned the murder as "unscrupulous and inhumane". The Abu Sayyaf group, blamed for the worst terror attacks in Philippine history, had demanded a ransom of 30 million pesos ($600,000) be paid by Sunday to spare Jurgen Kantner. After the expiration of the deadline the jihadists, which were monitored by intelligence group SITE, posted a gruesome video showing Kantner being killed by a knife-wielding man.

Guy quits his crappy job in the best way possible

Guy quits his crappy job in the best way possibleSometimes, you need to go out with a bang. Or a flush. Giving two weeks is a pretty standard practice when employees move on from their current job. It allows the company a short amount of time to search for a replacement, and gives the employee an opportunity to leave on good standing. You never know when you may need that reference ? or worse, when you may need your old job back. While most people quickly Google "two-week notice letter" and follow a pretty standard form, this guy decided on a different method. SEE ALSO: Lucky woman wins lottery days after quitting her job According to his wife, Redditor Girlofgodsbadday, this dude decided to quit his job by writing his two-week notice on a few sheets of toilet paper.  "I have chosen this type of paper for my 2 week resignation as a symbol of how I feel this company has treated me, and ironically, how it is disposed of is where I feel the company is going," the letter reads. Just in case the message wasn't clear, he drew a toilet next to where he signed his name. While he didn't use the term "ironically" properly, we're going to give him a pass because handing that over to any boss takes some serious guts. Official Samsung teaser confirms the Galaxy S8 will launch March 29th

Official Samsung teaser confirms the Galaxy S8 will launch March 29thIn an otherwise tablet-dominated press release in Barcelona, Samsung found 15 seconds to tease its next big smartphone for all of us. As expected, we're going to have to wait a month longer for the Galaxy S8 launch, but it could well be worth it. A Samsung invite sent out confirms that the launch event is going to happen in New York City on March 29th. Until then, this teaser trailer is all we've got to go on. https://twitter.com/SamMobiles/status/835927473896435713 The teaser takes us through the history of the cellphone, beginning in the 1980s. It's a showcase of design, decade-by-decade, with the oh-so-subtle hint being that the Galaxy S8 is going to dominate 2017. If we're really reading into it, the teaser also seems to confirm that there will be very little bezel on the side, no physical home buttons (or buttons of any kind), and some kind of symmetrical bezel top and bottom. That lines up pretty well with what the rumors have suggested so far. One thing we're still completely in the dark about is the number of devices that Samsung is going to reveal. We're expecting to see the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at this event, but Samsung has only hinted at the one device so far. https://youtu.be/Ozng2cTF8_0
