The Trump International Hotel -- located at 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue in the Old Post Office -- had a soft opening on September 12, an occasion marked with great fanfare by the Manhattan billionaire businessman himself. Before a crowd of several hundred "VIPs" including former House speaker Newt Gingrich and journalists, Trump boasted that the hotel was finished "ahead of schedule" and "under budget" -- without offering specific figures.

By Amanda Ferguson BELFAST (Reuters) - Northern Ireland's High Court will rule on Friday on a challenge against British plans to leave the European Union without a vote in parliament, the first judgment in legal cases that are being closely watched by politicians and markets. A cross-party group of politicians, including members of the British province's largest Irish nationalist parties, brought the challenge earlier this month, arguing that a vote in the Northern Ireland regional assembly should also be required. Justice Paul Maguire told the three-day hearing that he would consider the case and reconvene at an unspecified date.

Tesla, led by billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, recorded net income of $21.9 million, or 14 cents per share, for the third quarter ended Sept. 30 compared with a loss of $229.9 million, or $1.78 per share, a year earlier. Tesla, which went public in 2010, had not made a net quarterly profit since the first quarter of 2013. On an adjusted basis, Tesla reported a profit of 71 cents per share, compared with a loss of $1.35 per share in the same period last year.
